![]() ![]() Download rufus-1.4.10, from this site, for example.Ģ) Go to station drivers and download the firmware ASM-104x Version 130201. How to view ASMedia's ASM1042AE firmware:ġ) Create a DOS bootable USB stick. Clicking on the link in the blue text in the IME software download listing in ASRock's list for our board takes you directly to the MS download page for that update. You can install that single Windows update for Windows 7 that is required for the IME software before any other updates. I disagree with the order of driver installation listed in a post above (not the one you listed from the ASRock driver CD.) You want the Intel IME software installed right away, there is no need to install all the Windows updates first. NET Framework software, so that does not apply to Windows 8. NET Framework is not used by anything in the driver list, and is usually one of the first things found in the list of Windows updates. Personally, I avoid using both of those, the ASMedia SATA ports are the worst of the two, I have that controller disabled in the BIOS. The order that ASRock loads the ASMedia drivers is simply to get the ASMedia USB 3.0 and SATA ports working. Later I connect the network cable so I can get the Windows updates, but not until I have installed all the drivers I want to use. Personally, I never connect a network cable during a Windows installation, I don't want any Windows updates or drivers chosen by Windows installed. So no need to install a driver to get the network working, as it will be working during the Windows installation. On a different subject, Windows 7 might have a built in network driver that works with the Intel network chip on your board, Windows 8 does. I have a PCI slot adapter that has two USB 3.0 ports (no chip, just the ports and cables) that connects to the USB 3.0 connections on the board, there are two. If you PC case has USB 3.0 ports, they can be connected to the USB 3.0 connection on the board. I don't know what else to tell you about your ASMedia USB 3.0 problem. ![]() ![]() I'm using the one from our board's download page, ASMedia USB 3.0 driver ver:1.16.15.0. I am using Windows 8.1, so that is a difference, but the driver version is the same for Windows 7. The ASMedia USB 3.0 ports on my Z97 Extreme 6 board work fine, with a USB 3.0 and a USB 2.0 flash drive, just tried them and they work fine. I don't even know if any firmware exists for the ASMedia USB3.0 controller, I could not find it. You are right about the ASMedia USB 3.0 firmware, that it is hard to find. ![]()
